Westside Union School District spring break and I (Christian) have dedicated the two weeks to getting a train running. Work seems to be progressing more slowly than I anticipated, however.
Monday, March 22. All we got done were these two portals and a short cribbed retaining wall.
Tuesday, March 23. Two tunnel portals got built.
The first will look like concrete poured in to wood plank forms. As is visible from the photo the portal is shaped to fit the granite rocks around the portal.
The second portal is sandstone faced. We were so into getting the job fininshed, we neglected to take pictures of the process. We will be building a similar portal March 24 and will attemp to do better with step pictures.
