Saturday, April 3:
We had a full crew of six today. We connected up the lower loop of track and
had a train running much of the day. We used a temporary power connection and
supply. We discovered that we are going to need to take the tops off the
tunnels and grind down the concrete along the outside of the rails. That will
be a lot work, but well worth a smoother operation in the long run. We also
poured the last tunnel portal using white sandstone and marble. We capped the
day by staking the rest of the track on the upper loop. Many visitors are
showing a lot of interest in our project.
